Aquila named "Favorite Power Catamaran" in Southern Boating's 2025 Readers' Choice Awards

We're honored and incredibly grateful to announce that Aquila has been named the winner of Southern Boating Magazine's prestigious Readers' Choice Award for Power Catamarans. This recognition means the world to us, not just because it validates our team's hard work, but because it comes directly from you: the boating community we're privileged to serve.

A humble thank you

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for Aquila. These awards reflect the voices of real boaters: people who live the lifestyle, who understand what matters on the water, and who hold manufacturers accountable for delivering on their promises. Your support drives us to keep innovating, to keep listening, and to keep building vessels that maximize every moment you spend out there.

Thank you also to the Southern Boating team for the thoughtful recognition and for the incredibly kind words shared on their Readers' Choice Awards podcast. Hearing their honest perspective (especially knowing these opinions aren't sponsored or influenced) makes this achievement even more meaningful.

In discussing the Power Catamaran category on their podcast, the Southern Boating team shared some observations that reflect what we strive for every day at Aquila:

On our product development:

"I can't even count how many new models they came out with this past calendar year... When you think about the logistics of bringing a new boat from an idea to production where it's seaworthy, you know it's going to meet all your standards, you know that the audience is going to love it—that process is not an easy process. It's not a fast process, and they can still get four new models out in a year or more even."

On our design philosophy:

"Aquilas are known to be spacious. I would consider them family-friendly in regards to layouts. And they're very practical, too. They think about the smallest little details."

On our approach:

"When I look at regular business practices, a lot of people are doing their thing, but then they look over at their competitor and they're like, 'Oh, that's a good idea. I should do this too.' I don't think Aquila does that. I think they march to the beat of their own drum... They have a vision and they're executing. Here's what our owners are telling us. Let's implement that. Here's how we're going to make that even better. And that's just what they're doing. They are focused on doing the best they can on every level."

That last point resonates deeply with our team. We don't design boats by looking over our shoulders at competitors. We design them by looking directly at you, our owners, and listening carefully to what would make your time on the water even better.

Looking ahead in 2026

As the Southern Boating team noted, we're not slowing down. The momentum we built throughout 2025 (with launches like the Aquila 46 Yacht, 36 Molokai, and both Coupe models) continues into this year with the upcoming arrival of the Aquila 45 Sport power catamaran at the Miami International Boat Show. And for those drawn to wind over engine, our sailing catamaran lineup continues to expand with the same thoughtful design approach—including the new Aquila 50 Sail catamaran debuting at the show.

Every model we introduce (whether power or sail) represents countless hours of collaboration with world-class designers like VPLP Design, J&J Design, Peart Yacht Design, and Yacht Design Works, rigorous testing in real-world conditions, and (most importantly) feedback from owners who actually use these boats the way they're meant to be used.

What this award means

This Readers' Choice Award belongs to everyone who believed in what we're building: our owners who share their experiences and help us improve, our dealer partners who represent Aquila with integrity around the globe, our design collaborators who push boundaries with us, and our team who obsesses over every detail from the factory floor to the final delivery.

Southern Boating's observation that our booth at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show "was busy" every time they walked by? That energy comes from genuine enthusiasm, from people who are excited about the possibilities that power catamarans offer for their families, their adventures, and their time on the water.

We're honored to be part of that excitement.

Aquila also placed second in the Outboards category, and we couldn't be more grateful.
